WE’VE HAD OUR SHARE of heartbreak over the years. We’ll never get over the sad day we learned that our beloved Legend Hats/K-Products closed its doors by selling their business to Staples. Our beloved “tall” style was nixed in favor of heartless, halfwit “Git-R-Done” camo and NASCAR fan styles. Faux frayed edges, fish hooks, goopy embroideries and whatever else they could tack on. And we’ll just put it this way: We’d have no part of that bullshit.

We tried to place one last monster order, got shut down and proceeded to enter a dark period on the DDC factory floor where we begrudgingly started “whittling down” our stash of hats on hand. One by one, our colorways sold out, orders were turned back, hearts broken and countless spirited customers left our clutches frustrated.

So we tried to source them ourselves. And of course, hat vendors will promise you the world! A number of samples came and went, never quite hitting the mark. Too short, too curved, too chumpy, whatever. And, we our hearts just weren’t into making them overseas.

Every now again, good things happen. By the tip of our brim, we met the good people of Action Cap and everything came back into focus! A set of bombproof samples SEALED THE DEAL, a monster order was made, and today, we offer our new and improved DDC Action Cap!

Handcrafted in America, the DDC Action Cap is not to be messed with. Field-tested all around the, this classic cap style has been outfitting farmers, truckers, little league teams and the occasional carny for many years. These are the real deal, people. Like we’d settle for anything else? Never.

We’re VERY PROUD of our DDC Action Cap line. Some 120-ish hats to peruse! They aren’t the easiest thing to make. But as long as these exist in the world, that tall cut we love so much, then we are going to go whatever lengths we have to make them, and sell them at a fair price. We’re just about 20 years into making hats, and don’t see that letting up any time soon.
