I’ve known Portland ripper Trevor Solomon for years, mainly through my buddy Fasil Debeb. A promoter and encylcopedia of rock-n-roll, Mr. Solomon has always had a special place in my heart. Plus, there’s been MANY shows he was able to wiggle me onto the “Guest Napkin.” Thank you, man!

So when Trevor and Matt Manza from Portland’s True West Productions approached me about doing a poster system for their upcoming Pioneer Square concert series, I jumped at the opportunity with one caveat: Promise I’ll get a backstage pass that allows me to go as far as one backstage lurker can go.
And they did!

Cool moments: Backstage at the Indigo Girls/Neko Case show and I got to meet The New Pornographer’s A.C. Newman to tell him how he’s at the very top of my iTunes and how I’ve heard the start to his “Miracle Drug” song a skrillion times. Or taking Remy Badalamenti back to meet Isaac from Modest Mouse to shoot the shit before their show. So cool. The very best was being backstage for Tenacious D to get handshakes from both Jack and Kyle. Thank you, Chris Paules!
