Rumpl

I didn’t get into graphic design for the accolades or any of that shit that’s peddled as signifiers of success. I got into graphic design to make a living. To pay off school loans and shit. Not all that romantic, but that’s the truth.

So when I talk about being able to make a Rumpl blanket, and blankets, I still don’t know how to wrap my thinker around just how cool these things are. First off, you get to see your art GIGANTIC on this big thing, and second, you get to twist all up into the thing on the couch while watching Netflix.

And you know what’s the coolest thing about a blanket? Everyone can use it. One size fits all. Kids, adults, moms, dads…hell even dogs love to wrap up in these beauties. I don’t quite have the words to tell you how much I appreciate that.

When Wylie approached me about the next round of blanket designs, he hit me with a triple punch: “Let’s do three of them. For the next three seasons!” he said. And it came to me in a flash. I instantly dug in. Started with the sun motif first and that worked into the thick lines colors and their respective feels. “Summer” was looking out over the endless expanse of a body of water, like The Pacific Ocean or Lake Michigan, or anywhere for that matter. “Fall” was a scene in Vermont, pulling off and just being blown away by the colors of that crisp, autumn day. “Winter” had me trudging through a snowy field in my Michigan youth.
