Steve Carder
Projects

I’ve got a real soft spot for Steve Carder. He’s a buddy in Portland. A hard-working dad who loves to shoot shit up on the weekends. He’s has brought some cool restaurant ideas to life over the years.

First it was the People’s Sandwich of Portland. Downtown Portland in the heart of Old Town on 1st Street. Was so proud to see him open the doors on the place to feed the downtown crowd. His “Argento Arrabiata” was a DELICIOUS sandwich and I destroyed many of them.

Next it was the Department of Sandwich, a mobile food cart. He ran into some snags and that project was put on hold when the pandemic slammed down on the world.

Which brings me to The Lawntender. Should a lawnmowing company be in the DDC “Eats” section? Yes. Here’s why: Steve lost his gig as a bartender when the pandemic forced Portand into lockdown. He was quick on the draw and became The Lawntender. He’ll come mow your grass, and make you a cocktail.
