Oliver Ashley

My nephew.

I was there the day he was born. We flew out Mom to be there with Leah and Jacob. What a gift that day was, those doulas whipping around handling the kid’s arrival into the world so beautifully. Almost stepped in a bowl of afterbirth that day. Cried my eyes out so happy for Leah and Jacob. I was there when he started his first day of pre-school. I was there when he graduated kindergarten. I was there for a couple baseball games. I was there for all the birthday parties with all those screaming rats. He’s currently fourteen, with a newly-found deep voice and a faint whiff of mustache coming in hot.

I’m so proud of the job Leah and Jacob did with him, and are doing.
