The Delines
I remember Willy telling me about his new band The Delines, and how it allowed him to take a back seat. Amy Boone was singing and was the “front-woman” who took center stage. With her beauty and stunning voice, it was a refreshing new take. It allowed Willy a chance to write, compose and kinda hide on stage, after so many years of front-man duties for the mighty Richmond Fontaine.
Please go buy ALL The Delines records. Fully formed and their own thing, it’s hard putting them into a category. Soul? Sultry soul? Late- night dive bar crooners? I’ll stop. I know this much: I love the songs and the stories they tell. Sure, you know it’s Willy behind them, but the band brings them to LIFE in such a big way. Dig way into The Delines, okay? That’s an order from the DDC.

I’m just glad The Delines still believe in the power of a 7-inch record. A little snapshot in time, a couple songs, and hopefully some good graphics to hold it all together.
