“Drink Water is an idea. It came about as we watched the snowboard industry, and other similar industries, be bought up by energy drink brands peddling their products to kids. Oddly enough, nobody was really opposing them. We figured, as professional snowboarders with an opinion on the matter, we should try and use whatever influence we have, to protest. And for us the best protest is to promote something we do actually support. —Austin Smith & Bryan Fox”
As someone who’s seen the insidious hand of big, bloated sugary “sports drinks” companies luring people in with big money, logo placement and false advertising, I was down to help in any way I could. Bryan and Austin approached me with a sketch and I tuned it into the mark you see below. And it exploded from there.
And to the “agency schlup” who keeps “wanting to connect” to see about “possible messaging opportunities” for the “bullshit sugar-based action sport drink” they are “shamelessly propping up” that may or may not go by the moniker “Shitsauce X-2000” or “DonggSloppz Performance Tonic” or “Rockstar Energy Drink”…do this: ”Leave us the fuck alone.”
