Tenacious D
Not all heroes wear capes. Wait, pretty sure these two intellectuals have worn capes at some point? Anyhoo, if you aren’t a fan of the mighty Tenacious D, something is wrong with you. National Treasures, these two rapscallions. And to do a couple projects for them? A balls-out-and-swinging in the air honor.

When the D calls, you act! Their crew gave me some direction: “The boys on the Liberty bell?” Got it. I got to sketching, got an approval from management and dug into vectoring it up! Special thanks to Juanita, Michelle and Chris for letting me roll up my sleeves up for these two turkeys! And from what I’m told, Jack and Kyle are EXTREMELY involved in the creation of each piece of art and merch for the band. It was so awesome to hear that, as my mind was swimming, intoxicated by Hollywood’s fumes. Not the case here.

Tenacious D,
Spicy Meatball Tour, 2023
I’m pretty blown away by the state of contemporary rock poster design and illustration. Some of the illustrators the big dawgs tap into? WORLD CLASS STUFF. So when I roll my sleeves up in the illustration realms, I kind of freak out. I’m treading in foreign lands! And hoping—but for a second—the talents of the exquisite Richey Beckett, the fantastic Arik Roper and gravy drippings of Weird Beard will invade my musk ox girth and lift me up to slay the project!
Project Details:
01. Full-color print/digital for tour marketing, poster and backstageables.
02. 18" (W) × 24" (H) in dimension.
