Burton Snowboards

My first snowboard was a Burton Elite 140. Got it in November of 1987, and Mom and Dad made me wait until Christmas morning to ride it! Took it out and learned how to do a “method air” off a shitty, little 2-foot booter up behind our house on Deerfield Lane. And learned how to properly ride in the next couple weeks at Crystal Mountain and Mt. Holiday. Frozen army pants and wonky Sorels.

Burton was the gold standard all those years. They led the pack with consistent advancements in technology, progression and style. That’s what was on my mind the ENTIRE TIME working on the Custom series you see below. Rolling up the sleeves for the pinnacle brand of the snowboarding world in 2002? They were at the TOP of their game.

What a cool project and still kinda can’t believe it happened. Thank you to Lance Violette for this opportunity.
