All Tiny Creatures
I was approached by Adam & Sara Heathcott about doing a record cover for All Tiny Creatures, a band from Wisconsin. Their keyboardist Thomas Wincek was a kid I knew from MCAD. I remember him hanging around the computer labs and stuff, but we never really hung out.
I had sent a couple cover options, but I was missing the mark. So I quickly sent a vector-based comp, with a note explaining how we could get an illustrator to create this wild collage of elements for the cover, floating on a white background, and how the shapes were just quick gesture of the what could go where. Well, the band dug it as stood, and we went with it! I quickly built out the gatefold spread and the record labels and sent it off to the printer. Just like that, I had stumbled into my “Thick Lines” style.
