Hamilton
Wood Type &
Printing Museum
I loved going up to Two Rivers! To visit the mighty Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum! Met the gang from Field Notes up there in 2014 doing the preliminary work that went into our “Two Rivers” edition.
Had a blast learning about the place, exploring the vast sea of palettes filled with wood type to be sorted up close and got to see exactly what it took to make a set of wood type characters! Incredible stuff.
It was a reall hoot to hang with Jim Moran, Stephanie Carpenter and Bill Moran. Solid people all around doing absolutely stunning work preserving wood type history!
We bowled at the little bowling alley, ate the cheese curds and even took the SS Badger to get there, braving the high seas of Lake Michigan. I really gotta go back.
