My first official snowboard graphic! Where it all began for me!

We found an old “Mystery Machine” Ford van up at Mt. Hood and took some reference shots. And then I had my roommates poised around the house to get the geometry of each worker. Johnny, Chad, Derek, and Bry. Did a sketch, inked it up, and fired it over to Neil Rankin at Solid Snowboards in Fairplay, Colorado. To say I was excited would be an EXTREME UNDERSTATEMENT.

I remember seeing it up close the first time, on a road trip up at Mt. Baker. We were at the end of the run and skating up to the lift line, and a kid whizzed by and I saw the graphic for a split second and was so jazzed. Out in the wild! Real! Will never forget that moment. Thank you to Neil Rankin, Matt Hale, and Jeff Wastell for giving me my first shot!

01. “Pit Crew” graphic for topsheet of Jeff Wastell pro model.
02. I FedEx’d my pen and ink illustration to Solid and Neil colored
it and placed into into the topsheet for prime time.
