Hot Wheels

File this one under “Dream Projects!” Got to do the card design for the annual “Stars & Stripes” Hot Wheels series in 2021!

Fond memories of playing with Hot Wheels on recess, making dirt tunnels for them to race down and out. Dirty fingernails. Third grade? 1981?

My very favorite part about Hot Wheels? The price hovers right around a buck a piece. Which means this: Every kid out here can have some Hot Wheels. When I toured the Hot Wheels offices in El Segundo, this dawned on me and kind of choked me up.

So to be able to contribute some graphics to something all kids get to enjoy? Very, very cool. Special thanks to the awesome Matt Gabe for trusting me with this project! Such an honor!

And somewhere in there, a big hat tip to Mark Michaylira for the good work he’s done on Hot Wheels all these years! Proud of you, man!
