Gravis Footwear

2002–2005

(As an employee of Cinco Design .)

Gravis footwear was an exciting brand. Came out of seemingly nowhere and had this chill, nuanced confidence. Comfortable and well-crafted, but different. Their developers were treading new ground—as the kids say—LITERALLY. So many incredible details, and yet, not trying too hard. And that’s where Cinco Design comes in. Their mellow attack was just what the brand needed. Just show them in quiet moments. And that’s John “Goo” Phemister in a sentence. Tasteful photography first and foremost, and tiny branding tucked into the corner. Done!
