We used to have a shop off Stark and 3rd for ten years here in Portland. 2009-2018. Just a couple blocks south of that fabled Burnside Skatepark. RIGHT by the train tracks. And each day, some 4-5 times, that train would rumble by. And of course, it’d be during some podcast we’re recording for, or right as we’re answering “the big call” from a client, or hell, at some crucial riff on whatever unlistenable record we’re listening to. That’s just how shit goes when you live by the train tracks. It’s almost as if the conductor gives a couple extra blasts of that big horn just to fuck with us? Just to let us know he knows that we know that he knows that we know who the hell is boss on the rails. Something like that.
