And Then The Fever Broke...
The last couple days has been a real hellride. And of all times, my bodys got go to shit when Ryno shows up to slay the town as a team.Ive been in and out of a fever for the last couple days. Monday, I hit 102.5, which really set the bar for some fun times ahead. The highest I hit the last couple days was 101. Ive been checking my oil every hour or so. Really freaked out.Last night, after a swig of cold water to wash down a couple of horse pills, my body went into a series of violent shivers. So weird. Jarring stuff, I tell ya. And then, just like that, it stopped and I felt whole again, or, not cold.I dont know what the hell I got, but man, its been scary. Cloudy head, dreamy thoughts and tough, restless nights in the sleeping quarters.I don't think I quite made it to the "hallucinations" stage, but nevertheless, did think some downright nasty thoughts. Our spirits have been low. That thinker gets to workin' on catastrphic scenario after scenario, and well, one's gotta wonder if you are just sorta feedin' the fire and "allowing" the virus to keep you down. The fever broke around noon today, followed by some cold sweats, so we promptly went out to celebrate with a heartysomewhat cautiousmeal at Tosis (as in, Hali-tosis) down the street. French toast and crisp bacon never tasted so good.- - - -Ryno flies back to Minneapolis tomorrow, that prick. We managed to do some junkin, eating out, laying around, festive sparring and general lambasting of each other during his five days here. He will be missed. So will the beer bottles laying around, ant-infested creamsicle wrappers and miscellaneous clothing items that just more or less, fall where they may after a big night out.The ranch is a pit. I gotta muster the strength to give it a proper spit shine. Running a ranch is a full time job.- - - -Big Ben Whitla took a gig with Ride Snowboards up in Seattle. Give em hell, Ben. Styk and Fank will take great care of you.- - - -Jackie No-Name, aka, Tim Lane. Met him back in Minneapolis, and didn't have to much more to say to us after that initial handshake. Now he's bigtime, in New York City of all places. I'll be damned.
