For Toby

FOUR-LEGGED FRIENDS: Aw man, with a heavy heart, I say goodbye to Toby, the Draplin family Shih Tzu.
Little Tobers was 12. He lived a good life of getting treats, barking at the television, running out into the cul-de-sac...as well as a spirited penchant chewing on socks, underwear and stuffed animals. In his later years, Toby One developed some weird warts, which always oddly complemented his crooked legs and jagged teeth. In the end, I'd like to think it was "advanced age" that got him. His little body was just shutting down.
I'd rest my feet on his circumference when I was home, rubbing my meat feet into his girth. He'd just lay there on his side, enjoying a good rub. Little Toby One.
He's in a better place, up in doggie heaven with all the Draplin family dogs: Zöe, Zack, Jackson, Gilligan, Charlie and Gary.
Can't help but feel sad as hell over the loss of the little guy. Mom and Dad, I hope you are holding up. Leah, too. Leigh and I shared some memories last night about the Toby.
For Tobers!
