SOME SAD NEWS: Lovejoy has moved on.It was inevitable. His little wings grew strong enough to leave the nest.He took a gig with a Northwest-based shoe company by the name of "Nike." You might've heard of them? Athletic shoes, clothing, etc. He'll be working on cool stuff with close friends. Skateboard stuff. I am happier than hell for my friend. It'll be a good jump for him. Not only will the work be challenging, but, it's exactly the kind of stuff he should be rolling up the sleeves for.So, today is "Lovejoy Day" on the DDC Factory Floor. All day. Thank you for the good work the last couple years, man. Blood is thicker than water.SOME BRAGGING/SOME OF THE SHIT WE'LL MISS:- Single handedly scanned, planned and manned the upcoming Field Notes Memo Book gallery.- Clipped roughly 37,000 images over the years.- Good friend to Gary.- Responsible for DDC Merch shipments.- Vittles retrieval.- Impeccable all-aroundness.- Laughter, jokes.- A keen sense of "what was going down" in Portland youth culture.And taking his place for the time being is Andy Forgash. Goddammit. Nice face.If you know what is good for you, you'll leave a comment for Lovejoy. Send off my friend with some strong words. Now is yer chance to set the record straight once and for all.- - - -LEWMAN-APPROVED®: Steelcase greatness from back in the day. Can't help but just a get a little bit mad thinking about so-called "modern" offices of today, and just how bad office furniture is. Pisses me off real good. I live in my office and I've had to scrap to make the place bearable. Imagine having this stuff at yer fingertips for a fair price back in the day? Incredible. Now it's all compressed wafer board shit, with bullshit, goopy rounded edges and shit. Aw hell, I'll stop.- - - -GOOD NUMERICALS: An old Folkways roster.
