DDC Fall Tour 2007 / Day 61 / Downtown Minneapolis

Got up, well-rested and fired up to spend some time downtown.Watch those toes, as, here come a steady stream of names being dropped. Youch!01. Had lunch at Pizza Lucé with Michael and Dan from the ever-ass-kicking Aesthetic Apparatus.02. Joe Kral from the infamous Test Pilot Collective and tons of other things was eating lunch there too, so we sat with him.03. On the way out, we ran into the Wink guys, Richard and Scott. Not to be a turd but, it was just really really really cool to be shooting the shit with some of the most inspiring fellas in graphic design that I know of. I mean, I've been following Joe's work since like, 1997 or something, and, the Wink guys have blown me away from some year, and, you know how I feel about the Aesthetic Apparatus stuff. Just, really, really cool. Inspiring guys. All of 'em.Minneapolis has one of the most amazing design scenes going. I still kinda wish I coulda been a part of it.- - - -Then I shot over to Chuck's to shoot the shit a bit on all things printstock, merchandising and production. Charles Spencer Anderson's design history is one of the main reasons why I ever looked into Minneapolis in the first place. Many, many lessons learned during my time there. Many, many headaches recieved over the course of the day, completely overwhelmed with billions of visuals. Too much, really. Loved those days scanning.Chuck's pretty fired up about Pop Ink, and well, frankly, you should be too. Lots and lots of cool stuff is up for grabs. Get over there.Said goodbye to all the fellas at CSA and got the e-mail that pretty much put the kabosh on my time downtown.- - - -It turns out the new bindings showed up in Boulder, all the way from China, a whole day early. I checked my compass and started heading west and southwest, and in no time, I was shooting past that big casino, down towards Mankato. Whipped past Windom and set up shop in Worthington, getting stuff done that I won't be able to mess with while I'm shooting snowboard bindings in Boulder.
