We are at odds for this upcoming Sunday night. A dilemna.Willy Vlautin of Richmond Fontaine is reading selections from his novel The Motel Life at Powell's. 7:30pm. Not missing this one.And then down the street at the Hollywood theater, that Helvetica documentary is airing at 8pm. Damn.Maybe I could squeeze both in?- - - -A clip from the Helvetica documentary with Wim Crouwel.- - - -The honorable Jon Baugh, Minneapolis, Minn., father, husband, designer, freedom fighter and bullseye magician writes us a nice letter, telling us great things and offers up a "Real Good" link:Il Lee and some Ballpoint Abstractions. All that, with a ball point pen, man!- - - -Just because these are so good: Nate Beaty's illustrations for Willy's book, and other Richmond Fontaine settings.- - - -Bravo: David Lynch on product placement in movies.- - - -Better than the "Big Dig": Almighty Boston. We sure to click on "work" and dig on the Swiss Army Knife action. Pretty good.- - - -A kid Lovejoy knows, that we shot the shit with on Alberta last night, amongst the chaos of the street fair that goes down the last Thursday of the month. Wild and awesome.
