Back For The Attack / Linguistic Profilin' / Pistons!
Gary and I made it back from our surprise mission to Michigan. Everything went off without a hitch. Full report coming soon. Monday was spent "kicking the compound's ass" chipping items off a neverending list of duties:01. Paid the bills.02. Cut the grass. (Thanks to Neighbor Chuck for use of his mower.)03. Downloaded all the pics from the trip.04. Made binding graphics for the Union Binding Co.05. Made moves on the new Coal advertising campaign.06. Played with Gary.07. Cashed some checks.08. Counted our blessings.09. Got a load of boards from Ride from the FedEx lady. Phew. Need a board?10. Installed my air conditioner in the window of the sleeping quarters. Bring on the heat, motherfuckers.
Took a linguistics test, and this is how I sounded:
Your Linguistic Profile: |

5% Midwestern |
0% Dixie |
I guess it seems about right. I was hoping for more of a result that said, "American Cowboy" or "Midwestern Stacker of Wheat" or "Lineman For The County" or something. Awww hell.Try it yerself here, via Coudal.
And shit, last night I get a call from Ryno with about three minutes to go in Game 6 of the Pistons/Spurs contest. I shut it all down, ran upstairs with Gary and planted myself on the couch. They were up by one, which, considering the clutch wonder of Horry, the noodle finesse of Ginobli and the fundamentalism of Duncan; that lead could be thrown away in no time. The making of a good nailbiter.Well, those Pistons came together and turned that one point lead into eight and called it a game. So good. Great rebounding, clutch shots and the right amount of pressure on the Spurs offense...and man, we're going to game 7!I got nothin' against the city of San Antonio. I've been to the Alamo. I remember it. I've done their river walk and wondered about their claim-to-fame as, "America's Sweatiest City." For the most part, I'm cool with San Antonio. But, I'm hoping those Pistons shame those Spurs on their home court. And one more thing: I hate seeing Duncan lose, as, he's held in high regard on the DDC Factory Floor as a "class act" in the league.Sheed!
