Gulfport, Mississippi to Greenville, Alabama

Out of Gulfport/Biloxi this morning, and over into Mobile, Alabama for a couple pit stops at junk stops. It's incredible how it can be completely hot and sunny, and then, you go over a little rise and you are staring down the scariest clouds ever. That's just what we did today. See above.Just as we were rolling through Mobile, we ran smack-dab into a big ass thunderstorm, and then, an apocalyptic monsoon. It was wild. It wasn't raining...it was "rivering." The downpour was so intense, roads were flooding, cars were stalling and there was this odd sense of electricity to the air all around us, and in the van.Living in Portland and all, we're no strangers to the rain, but this stuff, it was biblical, man. Scary, even. Just not used to that kind of intense weather. Sure it rains a lot out West, but today, it rained down here.We hit a handful of junk, antique and "selling whatever wasn't nailed down" stops this afternoon, and drove up to Greenville to sack out for the night.Today was just another day of "pre-pregame" for that World's Longest Yard Sale that starts up on Wednesday. Just getting warmed up, people. Just getting our games figured out. We're going to war on Wednesday. In fact, as these words go to print, my dad my Uncle Bob on screaming down I-75 from Detroit to meet up with us tomorrow in Gadsden a couple hours to the north. Then, and only then, the whole team will be assembled.Dale, Dad, Uncle Bob, Evan, Jess and myself.A six-pack of junkin' whup ass.- - - -DON'T HATE US: No links today.Too busy enjoying the South, and getting my focus ready for the World's Longest.- - - -HIGHLIGHT OF THE DAY: Four gators sunning themselves on a little sand inlet underneath an I-10 offramp.Big ol' bastards, too. All black/dark dark green and sinister looking. It's just incredible those things are floating around out there. Calming, really. It's nice to know we haven't completely tamed everywhere just yet. Feel the same way about those grizzlies up in Alaska, and the sharks in the big water, and the whatever else. Shit that "will eat you." Awesome.
