THINGS THAT ARE HAPPENING, THAT AREN’T SUPPOSED TO BE HAPPENING: I’m on Marc Maron’s “What The Fuck” podcast today. Reread that. I’m just sort of blown away and don’t know what to say. So please go give it a listen, and then stay tuned for a a full breakdown here on the site. I need to give it a good listen, and then I’ll react. And share the whole breakdown on here.

So cool. Somehow, through all this wildness, I got myself on WTF? My favorite podcast. I don’t even know what to say. I’m just gonna listen, try to wrap my head around it, and freak out a bit. Here goes…

Hey Aaron, just listened to the podcast and found your story inspiring and touching. Thank you for being so candid. I could really relate to some of your experiences skating, snowboarding and traveling. Plus the warm stories about your Dad. Hearing how you never gave up and kept true to yourself is a great motivator. Peace

Just listened to the episode a few hours ago! Huge fan man, your passion inspires me as I pursue my own thing working the wine trade out in Napa, CA. Though you’re not much of a drinker, I hope that you design a wine label some day, I’d love to see you take. Great ep and r.i.p. to your pops, I wish we all could have met him.

Heard your interview today on WTF, Aaron is a super interesting guy. Checked out your site today and I am going to order some Field Notes for my father and myself. Great interview I am glad you got to talk with Marc.

I loved the episode! Listened to it last night while making dinner and cried my eyes out when you told the story of your dad’s passing. Thank you so much for sharing. I follow you on Instagram and just love to see the respect and appreciation that you have for your dad. Keep up the good work!

Stellar Interview, I was aware of the field books, knowing the story behind the product is even better.
You are like the Mike Watt of design, I was enthralled in yr’ spiel.

WOW. I’m so glad you were on WTF. I am a graphic designer, and I can’t believe I hadn’t heard of you and DDC. I’ve been missing out. I got emotional listening to your interview, because I identify SO much with the things you love. I am sad to say I have pushed my love of old things and old graphic design to the side in favor of the “trends” you talked about. My life and career path will not be the same now. I’m so excited to learn more about DDC. I’m listening to the podcast again tonight to take notes. The first time was overwhelming to hear someone who loves all the same thing as me, and has been incredibly successful with it. Thank you!!

Fantastic job, Aaron. You included such a touching tribute to your father. This was my first listen to WTF, but Marc Maron just gained another follower.

Aaron, great f*cking show on WTF! Love listening to your story and hearing about your Dad. I met you at the High Five conference in Raleigh this last February. You gave me a few words that really helped me with the passing of my father.

Keep Rockin

Great work my man Draplin! Can’t wait to listen, after I finish designing my animation with your poster January 9 logo poster in front of me for inspiration.

This was great—funny and inspirational. I haven’t had the pleasure of hearing you live yet, but I would love to hear more of your “tall tales.” Great stuff and great work, man.

Here is a photo showing why you’re Spare Change Containment Apparatus has a funny hole in the end…it’s for a key chain…and also drainage.

Hi - I’ve been loving using Field Notes for a long time, and of course love Maron - and so what a great interview. I’m formerly in the design world [a different piece of it] but had the benefit of working briefly w Tibor Kalman and another genius, Bill Drentell. But now a homesteader / designer / renovator.

Your HUGE passion is beautiful to hear as is how you set up your business. Very excited to have run into you in such an obscure way [I will send you a photo of my field note book that got washed…my weak process is that i type all my notes into my journal every few weeks so I do the things I jot down…luckily i had just xfered them]

Anyway - write a book about your process - because kids these days! need to understand not to jump on the corporate hamster wheel…

Warmly,
Ivor

so sorry about yr dad, I hadn’t finished listening - best wishes to you and your family - your story is very compelling, and like i think i said in my 1st note - could inspire people way beyond the rarified AIGA. Thank you again, Ivor
