TONIGHT’S THE NIGHT, LOUISVILLE: We’ve come all this way for you! We’re here, we’re heavily Gold-Bonded and ready to deliver our multimedia presentation to each and every one of you! This one all started a couple months back with a missive from Matt Dobson of the LGDA. I accepted the challenge to come to Louisville the minute it landed on my face. I love Kentucky! How could I pass it up? So the word is shit’s sold out tonight, and that’s awesome as hell, and weird and nerve-wracking! Sold out? Louisville? Yeah, Louisville! So, hell, THANK YOU to everyone who grabbed a ticket, and my apologies to any souls who tried and didn’t snag one. Hell, I’m gonna go out on a limb and say this: Just come to the show. Maybe we can swing something? This might get me in some hot water, but, I want EVERYONE who was interested to get in, and hell, let’s get creative later on. Show up! Here’s the details, you goddamn Kentuckians: The LGDA presents: Thursday, May 24, 2012 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM (Kentucky Blue Grass Time Zone) - - - - OUR FINAL PITCH: Kentucky, we’re speaking directly to you. This is our shot, Louisville. And we’re gonna take it. I love this city, having toured around it many times over the years. Shotgun houses, horse lore, bourbon burps and a high propensity for beardyness has always had me wondering! And tonight, we aim to tell you our stupid, little story. And we hope you’ll be there. Orange things. Kentucky posters. Overflowing DDC merch table. Tall tales. Laughs. Truth. White lies. Beards. Fine assortment of Field Notes products, Smart people. Maybe a couple of dumb ones? Talk of bands. Talk of travel. Proof of existence. Family vibes. Big ideas. Little ideas. Small parts. Unbridled spirit. - - - - OUR DDC MERCH TABLE WILL BE OVERFLOWETH: Don’t discount these words. We’re showing up with a colorful array of must-have DDC survival items, trinkets, treasures and trash. Shit you need. You’ll see. Bring cash. Or card. We’ve got that Square thingie, and will be putting it to the test tonight! - - - - WE MADE A POSTER FOR YOU, KENTUCKY!: And tonight, we’ll be offering them up at “Kentucky-Only” prices to all brave customers. You need one of these. Inspired by a lifetime of Kentucky wondering, Dale Dixon’s family lineage, horse thoughts and Kentucky blue grass that isn’t blue, but is blue in our mind, we bring you a whopping poster filled with EVERYTHING we love about Kentucky. We offer you the details: 01. Big! This one weighs in at 30” wide by 16” tall! Wow. - - - - WE SAW THE HARD COPY LAST NIGHT AND TEARED UP A BIT: Buchino interview us for Louisville’s The Paper. Awesome little rag. Believe in it! - - - - SPECIAL BOURBON-SOAKED THANK YOU TO: LGDA, Matt Dobson, Jaclyn, Elizabeth, Interactive Media Labs, Brunck Print Serivces, the Silver Dollar, Buchino, Hoss, Dale Dixon, the Dixon Clan of Olive Hill, Embry Rucker I, Embry Rucker II, Embry Rucker III, Embry Rucker IV, Slint, June of 44, Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, Cassius Clay, Bardstown this and that, Louisville slugger bats and the ghosts of horses long gone.
