WELCOME HOME, MY FRIEND: All those years. All those different hands all over you. Plugs in and out. Tubes glowing and burning out. 56 years it took you to make it to me. Welcome home. Here’s the best resource for these little electrified treasures. And based on this shot, while doing my detective work, I found out this little gem is a 1954, based on the markings in this post. The thing is worth a sizable amount, but from the time this little bastard touched my hands, it quit being worth anything, as, it’ll never leave my hands. So there you go. Worthless to the world, and in good hands, finally. - - - - FROM KEVIN DOWN IN LOS ANGELES: An incredible Geigy collection. Learn something from this one. - - - - THAT’S GREAT: A bunch of tents. So good. - - - - KING OF THE BREEDS: And how I miss little Gary. I get teared up when I think about the little guy the all sorts of ways, one of which, is the memory of him laying on my chest, one arm up, the other lazily dangling, like he was laying on a lawnchair or something. That memory gets me every time. Let me compose myself. Okay, there. Here’s one from Janeen Smith of Northern Florida: Sandwich time! - - - - ON THE PLAYER: 01. Greenhornes - **** There Are 3 Comments
well, sure, that sucker’s a little “underpowered” for the rock and roll noise, but think of how much easier it’ll be to drive those tubes into that sweet saturation zone! Posted by: trnsnd on 11/27/10 at 12:53 PM
Damn you Draplin. That’s a fine amp. Matched up with the Tele and that’s the sound right there. Posted by: Jaimie Muehlhausen on 11/29/10 at 11:11 AM
Great little amp. On my wish list. But I want a vintage model not the reissue. I saw a great video of Johnny Marr talking about these. He talked about how they used them to record. He loved the way they distorted so well. I am jealous. What are you playing through it. Enjoy. Posted by: Ed O on 12/02/10 at 6:45 AM
