Five years ago today my friend Kris Okins passed away, resulting from a bad bicycle accident here in Portland. I still think about Kris, and would like to dedicate the whole day to her.

Hey drivers: Watch out for bike people, okay?

Five years - hard to believe. She loved her work as a messenger and it’s so sad she had to die doing what she loved.

I was impressed by all the bikers in Portland; how courteous bikers and drivers usually are…….and now in Traverse City, many streets have a painted bike path on them! I will be more careful, as a tribute to Kris.

I feel terrible for not knowing. I’ve thought of her, and others from MCAD days, many times. Great gal.

Thanks for posting and keeping her memory alive.
