THE FIRST I’VE SEEN IT IN REAL FORM, SORTA: Holland’s Jur Anepool sends in a some snapshots of the Richmond Fontaine album insert and album labels I designed up this summer, and the 7-inch Trash Aesthetics made. They did a great job with those 7-inch label! So exciting seeing it out there in the world. Can’t wait to get a copy of my very own.

I’m working on a bunch of Richmond Fontaine projects right now, and couldn’t be prouder to help out. Support items for their upcoming European tour. Take me. I’ll carry amps and stuff and fight off drunken Germans and so on.

WHAT I READ JUST BEFORE SHUT-EYE, EACH NIGHT BACK HOME: Cormac McCarthy’s Outer Dark. That’s what I fall asleep to each night. Tales of desperation in Appalachia. Real fuckin’ cozy stuff. Christ.

HERE’S AN OLD CORMAC McCARTHY AD FROM BACK IN THE DAY: “Trim, but not skeletal…”

ON THE PLAYER:

01. Neil Young - Neil Young
02. Neil Young - Comes A Time
03. Neil Young - Landing On Water

Yeah, Outer Dark’s a real heart-warmer. Give Child of God a go, too. Makes you feel all tingly inside. Adorable.

McCarthy knocks me on my ass every time I read him. Beautiful language in those pages. I think I’ll head to the library tomorrow and pick up one of his that I haven’t yet read. Good call!
