The talk went off without a hitch! Gave it my all. Had a hell of time. So surreal. I’m standing off to the side during the incredible introduction by Eric, and like, I’m kinda flaoting up out of my head a bit, getting swimmy and blurry and excited, and then I realize, Oh shit, it’s me that has to go up there and talk. Ha. Funny how these things work. Real weird. -Thank you Eric Hillerns, for believing in the DDC! - - - - JUST LIKE IT SAYS: “Interview with Don from Invisible Creature.” Some great work in there. Super memorable. Wow. Rather impressive, all around. Their new site is something to marvel at, too. Wow, again! Tight as a fiddle string. A product of our good buddies Instrument here in Portland, that site is a real kick in the ass along the lines of, “Time to update the DDC.” We got plans. (Saw this on Vin’s Twitterage.) - - - - ONE OF THE WEB’S GREATEST: Ted Staunton’s Incredible Collection of Old 78s Labels. Hour and hours of enjoyment. Waste a whole day, on some fatcat employer’s dime. How’s that for fucked up? Strike back at Friday and throw the day away! (Hell yes, Bill Zindel!) - - - - LITTLE BABY FETUS ORNAMENT: Only from the Flaming Lips. Happy Holi-daze, you Okie fuckers! - - - - GET ONE BEFORE THEY ARE GONE: Lifter Puller vs. The End Of. My copy showed up today! “Must have” kind of thing. Comes with a card to download their whole mess. Wish I could have seen them back in the day. Missed it by a little under a mile. - - - - ON THE PLAYER: 01. Lifter Puller - The Entertainment And Arts There Are 11 Comments
Friggin’ awesome, as expected. So glad I went. Got a comb. It rocks. Draplin rocks. Everything rocks. Except for Marky Mark. He doesn’t rock. Posted by: Chip on 12/11/09 at 3:49 PM

Anyway we can get video, audio or at the very least the slides from this talk? Posted by: Kramer on 12/11/09 at 8:59 PM
Is there footage from the talk? I’d love to see it. Posted by: Nick on 12/12/09 at 12:11 PM

I can’t thank you enough for coming out for Designspeaks on Thursday. We’ve had some damned fine speakers but you brought the series to another level. The merch, the banter, the work; all made for an incredible evening. Count me among the many who will long remember the 10th of December. Keep up the good work, my friend. Aaron, I wish I could have made it to this! Are you planning on releasing these talks on dvd or something? Posted by: william on 12/12/09 at 9:08 PM
Great talk! Will the video that was being taped be available at some point? I have a class I would love to show it to. Thanks! Posted by: scotty on 12/16/09 at 1:16 PM
Glad I met you before you became a celebrity. heh. How’s it goin, otherwise, man? I’ve got one semester left and then I hope to break out… Hope all is well, and have a Merry Christmas if I don’t hear from ya. \m/ Posted by: Matt Fetterley (Fetterleydesign) on 12/17/09 at 7:35 PM
For those who asked about whether Aaron’s presentation was taped, it wasn’t. Fact is, the lighting sucks in The Cleaners space (at the Ace) for taping, and for that, I can only apologize. That said, Mike Lepis did get some interview footage with Aaron prior to the event, and we have a hell of a lot photographs taken from Studio 3. AIGA Portland will post those and I’ll provide a link in short order. Posted by: Eric Hillerns on 12/19/09 at 3:20 PM
