TONIGHT, DALLAS!: “December Meeting of the Dallas Society of Visual Communication: Portland Designer Aaron Draplin Is Saving America.”

On the plane right now, on my way down to the Emerald City. Bringing as much DDC Merch as one can carry, and an iron will. Got some stories to tell, some work to show and hope to win over Dallas’ creative set.

If I get lost, I’ll be sure to use this map to get around that big state. So good. That was designed up by DJ Stout, people! My new pal, from Minnesota Design Camp. Hell of a guy, and incredible designer. I’ve got a copy in my back pocket, just in case I go astray. It’s a big state, if you haven’t heard.

I GOT LOST A COUPLE SCROLLS INTO IT, BUT HELL, IT SURE LOOKED NICE: As Daniel Holter says, “Please tell me you were a fan of these books!” Some seriously incredible infographic action in there. I think I was, but I can’t remember. The first “big kid books” I got into was sasquatch and bigfoot paperbacks, freaking myself out so I couldn’t sleep. Bigfoot books, Legos and drawing. Those were the staples in my formative years.
