This is what we did on Sunday afternoon, people: We went north up the 5 a bit to that big Expo Center for the Antique show. Millions of exhibitors showing exotic specimens. People eating hot dogs. Old guys grumbling about prices. Women with hair like an explosion.

We made a Flickr set detailing the cools shit we saw. Here it is: “A Sunday At The Antique Expo.”

ALL KINDS OF GOOD WORK ON HERE: A t-shirt deal called “The Select Series.” My e-mail buddy Darin Bendall, whom I’ve never met in the flesh, but would stoically take an internet tube in the face for, made the cut too. Hell yes. Bendall. Not to be fucked with. Ever.

Check out this kick ass one by Frank Chimero. Man, that guy rips.

FROM NEW HAMPSHIRE, PROUDLY: Dabica, that backwoods Maple Syrup moonshiner, comes in pretty hot with an incredible Flickr set that he prefaced with, “Some junk hanging in the bathroom at my family’s camp.” Hardly the case. Incredible. Cool wood walls, too.

And make sure you scroll through Dabica’s deal, just to know how to “do it fuckin’ right” in Vermont.”

HORKEY FOREVER!: Mankato’s absolute greatest: Aaron Horkey’s latest creation. Incredible, as always. One of jewels of that Upper Midwest.

HERE’S WHY PORTLAND IS COOL: And it took a fella from St. Paul to find out about it for me. The Northeast Portland Public Tool Library. Incredible. (Thanks, Schille!)

WE’D VOUCH FOR ‘EM: If you are ever in need of “a passenger side mirror installed on a Ford Econoline van,” well, go no further than Action Glass on 6th and Mill here in Portland. Fast service, flying chips of glass and a fair price. Much appreciated. Getting incredibly excited to get out on the that big road out to Boulder this Friday.

Although flattered, I feel I should point out that I am in fact a St. Paulian, not a Chicagoan. Either way your Portland wins with that Tool Library.
