The triangle logo is something I spotted on the side of some moving van on the way to lunch. Pretty awesome. Local? Or? Thank you, whoever you were. So good. So simple. Who knows what it meant, and hell, who cares. Just a nice thing to look over at, waiting for the light, while the Boulder sun bakes down on every single cell of mine. - - - - SOME GUSHING FOR ALL THIS GEAR: So its been a big week for Apple products for the DDC. First, I settled a Quadbanger super tower, then a new iPhone and just before I left, a new Dual 2.66hz Laptopper. Motherfucker’s gotta have the right tools, and that’s that. I mean, it’s pretty fascinating and and intoxicating how the Cult of Mac plays into my day-to-day existence. Or on a larger note, all the “connectivity” at a glance. Fascinating. Scary? Shameful? Instead of playing the “Yeah, uh, technology is bad” card like every other yahoo out there and trying to out-analog whoever’s listening, I’m here to tell you that I love this stuff, and I love these tools. I can stay connected to all the yahoos I’ve been lucky to befriend over the years…like, one click away. That’s pretty incredible, when you think about it. I can see a million things that fuel every minute on the clock for the clients. I can listen to every album I own. Well, just about. All from this seat. I just gotta recognize the incredible power of the stuff I am lucky to use. Come on. Not only is the stuff beautiful to look at, but man, I’ve got this seemingly vast universe of potential creativity at my fingertips. It comes into my thinker, then goes onto paper, then goes into the computer, and then goes out into the world or whatever. I’m just thankful. I mean, just look at this fucking keyboard I’m typing on. I can’t believe I’m even typing these words. Must be the altitude. I’m going outside to look up at the sun for a couple minutes, just to remind me of what’s outside, beyond these monitors. Someone slap me. - - - - ONE HELL OF AN ITALIAN SUB: Snarf’s on Arapahoe here in Boulder. Good eats. Fast, furious, not too painfully “eclectic” and all that. Just get the “Italian” and call it good. Don’t fuck around. I’m always a little suspect of places with monosyllabic names. Yeah, tired rant, I know. I usually opt for places with a last name in it. Family stuff. Snarf’s logo alone would normally be a reason to “hit the gas,” but I trusted the recommendation of my coworkers today to a festive result. Streger’s claiming a stop Larkburger is in order. Looks pretty tasty. Although, the “truffle aioli” makes me roll the eye instantly. I’m a horrible person. - - - - THE LIPS UPDATE: A little band with a big bang from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma who is ALWAYS on our radar: The goddamn Flaming Lips. They broke the mold on this one. - - - - MUST BE THE ALTITUDE: This one spoke to me this aftenoon, from a Flaming Lips song from a couple years back. The opening lines to “Sunship Balloons.” I don’t know the dimensions of outer space Pretty heavy. Pretty incredible. Big thoughts from Oklahoma, people. - - - - HERE’S ONE JURAS FOUND: An incredible City of Edmonton patch. Light years beyond their friends to the south. Where the fuck did we go wrong? Thanks, Steve. You’ve got the eye. - - - - THIS ONE IS FOR LEIGH: You have yer schedule figured out, girl? Here’s a little help. Juras is ready for that TC Film Festival! I miss all the cool shit. - - - - ON THE PLAYER: 01. The Flaming Lips - Ego Tripping At The Gates Of Hell (EP) There Are 5 Comments

Dude, at some point you have to write a treaty or some shit on modern computer equipment and old graphic design. Thoughts? I have all these skate mags from the late 90s when people *just* discovered photoshop, and the ads would just totally make your eyeballs puke, they are so awesome.

Get your AppleCare on ebay… way cheaper. Just sayin’. Pissed me off to have to buy that to be honest, but I guess it’s like any kind of insurance… it’s hedging to avoid epic catastrophe. That Edmonton patch is spectacular. Breath deeply of that cool pine scented air for us, AD. Posted by: S.Brothers on 07/23/09 at 1:53 PM
