I got a couple fun things to announce, but gotta wait one more damn day to let the ink dry on the contracts. Damn. And hell if I remember where I found the incredible “E arrow logo” above. I can’t remember for the life of me. Sorry, “whoever posted it” wherever you are. So nice. - - - - BEAUTIFUL SHRED PHOTOGRAPHY: The action sports photography of Dan Vojtech. Some beautiful color in there. I’ve been lucky enough to meet all the snowboard photographers through my dealings at Snowboarder and Snowboard. Here’s another contender. Check out that color and composition! - - - - GOOD THINGS COME IN OLD PACKAGES: When was the last time you checked out the Art-O-Mat gallery? Now’s a good time. Some beautiful creations in there. - - - - FROM BAGERSKI, JUST UP THE STREET: Superchunk on ABC News. - - - - RED STATES, MY ASS:Thomas Fuchs and Felix Sockwell take on the Republican Party logo. Great stuff. Sore subject. Fuckin’ Republicans. Abe Lincoln rolls over in his grave. (Via Chris Glass, while we were inking out deal for this Friday’s bout..) - - - - YES, WE’VE ALL BEEN HERE BEFORE, BUT…: - - - - CLOSER YET, DALE: Still hot on getting a van. Dale feeds me links all day. Here’s one that just might be it. “Built Ford tough,” right? Better be. I get a lot of flack for driving a Volkswagen. You know, with the whole “Made in the U.S.A.” thing I try to live and stuff, right? Well, it comes down to this: Until Ford and whoever stateside makes a car as tight as Volkswagen, with as nice of features, and as nice of type on their displays, well, I won’t budge. When I bought Big S, that cockpit was tight! Still is. I tried out a couple Ford and GMs back then too, and man, they just didn’t even compare. Loose buttons, horsey dashboards, gloopy “melted” contours and shit. No thanks. Vans, well, they are a different story. - - - - ON THE PLAYER TODAY: 01. Man. So jealous of the van. I miss the old Sloe (my old band’s) van….we called it “The A.G.” as in “Anything Goes”. Got a rental 16 Passenger van last week for some shows and it was a big hunk of shit….take that thing on the freeway first! Posted by: Eric Powers on 04/28/09 at 3:46 PM
Just saw one of those Art-O-Mat machines here in New York at the Whitney museum shop. ‘Twas quite the spectacle! Chock fulla goodness for sure. Posted by: Tim Lahan on 04/28/09 at 4:31 PM
