We “Buy American” whenever we can. The only way to go. Facts are stubborn things. - - - - WE LOVE A GOOD LIST: And here’s one of our favorites of all time, and damned if we aren’t beaming with pride to be included on it in the form of a little deal we call, “Field Notes”: The ever-impressive A Continuous Lean’s impressive, “The American List.” - - - - SOMETHING WE’RE FLIPPING THROUGH RIGHT NOW: Radio Silence: A Selected Visual History of American Hardcore Music. Nicely designed, but maybe a little too clean for the content within. I mean, it’s a meticulously curated book, and the presentation is clean and beautiful and well thought out, but, it’s like, I want to see this stuff at the bottom of a closet or something, and, what would that look like in a book? Maybe I’m just dick? Yeah, that. Cool book. Recommended by the DDC. - - - - THAT TOWN WILL BREAK YER HEART: 100 Abandoned Houses is a photo project that documents exactly what is says, all over Detroit. The city I was born in. All those houses. All those lives. So many ghosts. (Dale Allen Dixon, pride of Lansing, Mich., sent this one in to me over iChat. Real digital.) - - - - GREAT, GREAT PROCESS: A page from Craig Thompson’s upcoming Habibi graphic novel. Made right here in Portland. Nice, nice guy. Met him a couple years back through my buddy Kurtie. Speaking of, Kurt, you gotta come by the shop. Missing you real bad. - - - - ON THE PLAYER AS THIS GOES TO PRINT: 01. Devils and Dust by The Boss. ‘An Old-School View Of Unemployment In America’ - http://www.nvestorz.com/blog/view/id_12/title_An-Old-School-View-On-Unemployment-In-America/ Did you know that the US FDA approves more drugs made by Indian companies than they do American companies? Posted by: Roy on 07/05/09 at 5:03 PM
Hello! Did y’all design the ~patch at the top of this post? (Or do you know who did?) I ask because I’d potentially like to use it on a Facebook page encouraging folks to buy American for Christmas (and always). Thoughts? Thanks, Posted by: Rachel Martin (@RMartinWriting) on 12/07/15 at 5:18 PM
