Dad’s home and on the couch. And with that, I am flying home. Saturday morning. It’s killing me to pass up the road trip back to Portland. Dad and I had some big plans for the “Top of the Nation” tour. Next time, next time. Getting Dad healed up was the only thing on the thinker. Glad to have him back. I’m gonna fly back to Portland on Saturday, leaving Big S here for the time being. I’ve got a ticket to fly back on the 15th, that is, if everything goes well with the mountain of projects I’ll be fighting upon my return to Portland. So if all goes smooth, I fly back, spend a couple days and then drive back to Portland. Adventure. If shit’s too wild in Portland, I’ll postpone the ticket until the first week in December, or something. It’s gonna be weird not having Big S out in Portland, but you know, that bus comes down Sandy Blvd every 15 minutes. - - - - MUCH APPRECIATION: Special goddamned thanks to all the ruffians who left a comment, or sent in an email, or sent him a card, or visited him in the hospital. Meant a lot to the old man, and to mom. Thank you. - - - - I WANT TO BELIEVE AGAIN: Please read “Why Obama is Winning” by Joe Klein and if you could, pass this article on, and on, and on. Just imagine the possibilities with a mind like his steering the nation. History, people. Such a chance to take a step forward. Wow. Obama on Tuesday! - - - - SOME POKER WISDOM THAT IS WORTH SHARING: “He who talks loudest, leaves the table first.” - - - - PEEL AND STICK: Breck Chumley. Say it with me: “Breck. Chumley.” Man, if there’s two things I love about the DDC, are the kick-ass warriors that send stuff in, and, their respective names. Here’s a link that Breck sent in: Retro Skate Stickers. A walk down memory lane. My favorites of the bunch at the Santa Cruz, Lucero and Zorlac stuff. Still, after all these years. Wait, add Alien Workshop to that short. Man, so good. - - - - TURN IT UP: Portland’s own Red Fang has a new video up on Pitchfork.tv: Prehistoric Dog, you motherfuckers! Heck yes. A Whitey film. Heck yeah, David! And, check out the Coyle appearance in there. Suddenly, I miss Portland. I need more Chris Coyle in my life. Seriously. Buy Red Fang’s new album here. - - - - SMALL ART: Here’s a little photo gallery about a Russian guy who makes art that fits in the eye of a needle. They call it, Microminiature Art.” We say, “How in the hell?” Something to think about. There Are 10 Comments
