First off, Happy Birthday to my lady Leigh. Her 30th.

Thirty good things about Leigh:

01. She’s a wonderful mom to Ewan.
02. She’s a great sister to like 17 or 18 McKolay siblings.
03. She’s a good daughter to proud parents.
04. She’s a good friend to like 3000 people in Traverse City.
05. She can pour the stiffest of drinks, at high altitudes.
06. She knows about rocks and geothermal issues.
07. She can “cut a rug” when she has to.
08. She’s traveled all over Europe and Central America.
09. She can power through a late night of driving.
10. She’ll hike any trail, regardless of terrain or condition.
11. She’s just about done with a big ass college degree.
12. She’s moving to Portland, Oregon. (A city on the West Coast.)
13. She’s got a lethal knowledge of foreign film.
14. She’s “evolved.”
15. She’s got a good head of hair.
16. She’s got a big laugh and let’s it fly all the time.
17. She’s as lethal with her big toe, as some are with flying fists.
18. She’s got a good, strong, responsible work ethic.
19. She’s generous with her loot.
20. She’s a ‘leftist’ as it gets, so take that, you conservative warhogs.
21. She’s got a beautiful singing voice. As do many McKolay spawn.
22. She’s kicked the tar out of Costa Rica, Amsterdam, even Paris.
23. She’s good with a camera.
24. She’s safe behind the wheel.
25. She’s nice to “not so nice” people.
26. She can spin a yarn with just about anyone.
27. She can adapt to just about any situation, with flying colors.
28. She’ll stand up for herself. Heck yes.
29. She’s beautiful.
30. She keeps me around. Phew.

We are heading up to Mackinac Island for the day. No reservations. No plans. No rules. Forecast of heavy rain. No big whup. We are going anyway. Heck yes. Been waiting for this one for some time.
