Today is my 34th birthday. Barely made it. Phew. Special thanks to my mom and dad for making me. I owe you one. - - - - Here’s what I want for my birthday: A comment from you at the end of this post. Leave yer mark and let’s set a record on here. Bring it on. Who are you and what’s yer deal? Make yer mark. (Up and over to the left a couple inches and click “Leave A Comment” and go to work, people.) - - - - Lots of cool stuff at the Little Friends of Printmaking online store. Buy something. - - - - Fank sends this one in, and our love intensifies for all things “nameplate.” That spotlight is built like a brick shithouse. Real good. - - - - Mitch Morse comes in with a birthday present of a link that makes us want to hit the road. The best. On the road again… - - - - REQUIRED VIEWING: The Ralph Nader documentary, The Unreasonable Man. A Patriot. An American Hero. A National Treasure. He’s in it for me and you, and that’s pretty rare these days. There Are 90 Comments

Well, sheeeeeeeiit. Happy Birthday, good sir. If you feel like washing off some of them new age-y Santa Fe, um, ‘crystal vibes’ or whatever, maybe a trip to aggressively unenlightened OKC for Halloween is in order? http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/halloween-parade-in-oklahoma-city Posted by: DB on 10/15/07 at 5:15 AM

Happy Fucking Birthday! Enjoy the celebration of you. Birthdays are one of the best holidays around…because it’s YOUR OWN PERSONAL HOLIDAY. And when you get back to the west side, your next session is on the house! WOO HOO HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Posted by: Shanta M.W. Prescott on 10/15/07 at 7:22 AM

Happy birthday, indeed, Aaron. Just this weekend I finally sent my BF in Mpls your blog link, saying about you & the site, “he’s just so alive to his experiences, ga-ga abt his girlfriend, fresh with the language, open about his enthusiasms … talented, funny.” And she wrote back, “Opened up the draplin link and laughed my sorry ass off. Really great stuff! Did you see the picture of Gary laying next to the dachshund tshirt? Mad skills, outrageously funny, and the cutest dachshund I’ve ever seen!” Posted by: Cheri on 10/15/07 at 2:41 PM

i’m a design grunt. I found draplin.com about 8 months ago. i most envy the DDC Road Tours, but find your spirit, design style, writing and outlook buoying in these tough times. in these beautiful times. your site’s a must read each day, and a source of constant inspiration (design + non-design). I dig through the archives on slow days. and i love the new avett brothers record too. you should try Chuck Ragan’s Los Feliz or Blueprint Sessions —- think you’d like them too. happy birhday. fight on! Happy birthday and greetings from Terrebonne, Oregon – world headquarters for Thomas Osborne Design. If you’re ever in the Bend vicinity, give us a shout. We’ll introduce you to two swell pups by the name of Cody and Phoebe (currently dozin’ on our studio floor) and treat you to a basket of fries at Terrebonne Depot. Bring your guitar, too. We can sit on the deck, gawk at Smith Rock, and bang out some chords. Ours is a Breedlove; gotta support the local luthiers … Posted by: Thomas Osborne on 10/18/07 at 2:16 PM
