Cage Match: DDC vs. Union. A fight until the death. Graphically, of course. Last man standing jumps on a plane out of Portland. Our client. Our dilemna. - - - - The spirited Jigsaw icon above was made for a little company called, “Forum Snowboards.” You might have heard of them? They’re a little outfit outta Irvine, California. Their marketing guru Evan Rose called some months back with a request for a set of icons to placed along the gatefold edge of their advertisements to promote the “tearing out of ads.” Scissors weren’t gonna, uh, “cut it” for these beauties. We took our vector-based assignment very seriously and got to work. Our efforts produced this set. Funny thing is, they weren’t used. Some mystery for me to ponder. So it goes. That doesn’t change the fact that we are gigantically proud of them. Not one bit. Next time, maybe. There Are 6 Comments
Favorites: Exacto Knife, Butterfly Knife. Damn cool. Maybe shop them to Lowes or DIY? Posted by: Erik on 03/20/07 at 10:09 AM
I dig ‘em. Maybe they thought the stroke was too heavy? That’s the only thing I could see holding them back. Then again, I’m no art director. Posted by: Tim Lahan on 03/20/07 at 1:54 PM

The whole reason the icons were ordered up, were the same reason we couldn’t use them. Something about “destruction of other advertisers property” and not doing the equitable thing to keep everybody in the fucking industry happen. BS, really. Posted by: Guru on 03/21/07 at 9:24 PM
