This logo, alone, made the trip up to Seattle on Monday pretty much worth it. “Harris Brothers Trucking.” Or, “Harris Brothers Logging,” or maybe it was, “Harris Brothers Environment Fucking” or something. Nevertheless, whoever made it, bravo. Damn. - - - - Mark and Tevis are tying the not, wayyyy up north in Banff, Alberta. It’s gonna be a hell of a time. - - - - The Replacements sorta got back together, enough to record a couple songs for an upcoming greatest hits disc. This sorta stuff always peaks my interest, but, I ogtta say, based on the handful of completely lackluster “reunited acts” out there, I just hope these guys do it right. 01. Dinosaur Jr. Yawn. I love those tunes, man, and hold them close to my youth, but, seeing those dinosaurs on staging huffin’ and puffin’ through songs was just sorta, uh, “unfun.” I got loaded at the show, knowing it was gonna be kind of sad. 02. Pixies. Double yawn. I saw some footage of them hammering out their setlist, on Austin City Limits or something, and only made it through a couple songs. Frank Black, for the most part, fascinates me. But, he should did look bored, and man, that crowd, surprisingly, was loving every minute of it. Yawn. I hope they made millions. They deserve it. 03. Whoever else. Yawn. - - - - Some hairy stuff here: Dig it. There Are 2 Comments
Congrats on the BoingBoing exposure yo! http://www.boingboing.net/2006/03/31/art_made_from_gocco_.html Posted by: Jonny on 03/31/06 at 2:07 PM
I’d have to agree with ya on Dino. I made the mistake of going to the reunion show, and man was it disappointing. Not to mention they only played Barlow-era songs, which are fine, but aren’t my favorites. Too much guitar wanking. Pixies, on the other hand, were thoroughly enjoyable. Although, I’d never seen em, so that was part of the appeal. A guy I recently bumped into reminded me of the Breeder’s EP, Safari. The first track is a duet with Mascis, it rules. Here’s a vid of the title track. Posted by: Aaron on 04/03/06 at 10:13 AM
