So here I sit in Italy, in a well-lit office, with green, rising mountains flanking either side of me. Lake Como rests at the base of the valley. The views are breathtaking. Such a remote, beautiful place. Just working along, chipping away at projects for the upcoming Union Binding Company season. Lots and lots to do. Trying hard to get a clear head and make some headway, to mixed results.
Find myself in a daze, drooling, every 15 minutes or so.
Jetlag makes for some interesting thought. There is just something odd about waking up in total darkness, not knowing where you are, or what time it is, and if you should be tired or not. You do all this, “What time is back home?” math, which screws you up even more.
A cold drink of water helps. Resets shit, for the moment. Then I fumble around in the darkness for my laptop, to see what time it is. Haven’t worn a watch in a long time, after leaving the Nixon/Cinco empire. Open the laptop, check the time, do a little math, then try to will myself back to sleep.
