Met Rod and Katie at the Doug Fir Lounge last night for a couple cold ones and some Josh Rouse. Good stuff. Just him and his acoustic guitar.

Talent is a funny thing. I’m just in complete awe of guitar players. He makes it look so easy. I guess you just get a feel for it, and it sorta plays itself. How the hell does he do it? All that sound, all that pacing, the muting, the little flicks and rolling…so good. The guy is a class act.

He played Seattle the night before. Fly out from somewhere, play a couple shows, fly back. Paycheck? Record company obligation? Hard to say, but, what an amazing way to punch in: Entertaining folks with mellow songs.
