I got this friend back in Chicago. His name is Philip James Chmiel. Sure his last name is kinda wierd, and man, he’d rather be dead than go by “Philip James” when he’s on the road or out-n-about around town. “P.J.” is what he goes by, and, he’s a scooterist. As you may or may not know, scooter culture is all about “showing yer colors” on yer jacket, lapel or bag. We like to think it’s the 2-stroke equivalent of a “Hell Angel’s vest” kinda thing. P.J.’s jacket has a handful of carefully-placed, sewn-on patches. He really needs one of these to make that goddamned jacket sing.
